The programme Regional Development and Institutional Communication in EU aims to emphasize the key role of communication in regional development at European level and has the mission to form specialists in the field of regional studies who have the capacity to understand and communicate with people belonging to different cultural environments, to lead and organize international teams, to develop abilities in managing the relations with partners and mass media against the European background.

The programme’s main objectives aim to form the following competences and abilities: the capacity of intercultural mediation, the capacity of analyzing and correlating similar issues in different cultures, the ability to solve problems which involve social and interpersonal aspects the capacity to analyze the place and role of mass media in crisis (political, institutional, social economic and cultural crisis), efficiency in public, local, regional, national and European level administrative work, the capacity to identify the model of development of a certain region, to define the opportunities and limits of this model, the ability to offer efficient solutions for the development of a certain region, the capacity to communicate and interact using a foreign international language.

In Oradea, with a two century old university, the master programme is run by the Department of International Relations and European Studies that has become one of the most efficient, dynamic and well performing departments in the University. The teachers’ performance at national level is expressed by the qualification the relatively young staff has received for the research activity – first place at national level in the National Research Assessment Exercise, the Award of Excellence received from the European Institute in Romania, and the Great Trophy in the Education Section won at the Gala of European Value Multipliers of the North Transylvania.

Those who graduate this master programme can be employed as civil servants, communication consultants, experts in European and international institutions, in local and regional administrations, NGOs, mass-media, communication departments in Small and Medium Enterprises, transnational companies, European institutions and consulting companies.
